5 No-Bake Dessert Recipes for Diabetics with a Craving!

During late summer it is too hot to use the oven for baking. The house gets hot and the air conditioning can’t keep up. So, just avoid it and satisfy your cravings for sweet treats with these easy, no-bake recipes that are diabetic friendly.

#1 Chocolate Mint Cookie Bars

This recipe makes judicious use of rolled oats and reduced-fat cream cheese for a firm, yet chewy texture. You’ll love the taste combo of dark chocolate and peppermint, which also make this a great recipe for the holiday season! It does suggest some sugar, but you can probably replace all of the sugar with an alternative sweetener like stevia.

#2 Grilled Stone Fruit

If you are already cooking out on the grill, pull some peaches and plums out of the cooler to throw on too. It’s actually a great way to quickly caramelize the sugars in the fruit and give them a sweeter flavor and soft texture. Those who really want to treat themselves may top their fruit with some greek yogurt or a tablespoon of whipped cream.

#3 Apricot Almond Balls

Make up some tasty treats for later with this recipe containing honey and apricots for the sweetness. The use of almonds and peanut butter also make these treats substantial. They can be chilled and eaten right away, or stored for later in a nice container. The recipe suggests drizzling chocolate on them as an additional finish.

#4 Applesauce Brownies

Yes, you can enjoy brownies! All you need to do is make individual servings, watch your carbs, and replace the sugar with applesauce. This recipe takes some of the blood sugar raising punch out of brownies by using plain applesauce as a sweetener, which also adds a little bit of fiber.

#5 Yogurt & Jam Fools

A British-inspired dessert, these cool desserts are made with whipped cream, Greek yogurt, and your favorite no-sugar added jam. It’s better if you choose something with pieces of fruit for extra fiber. However, the sky’s the limit as far as flavors go. The heavy cream is whipped together with Greek yogurt to give it some extra heft and increase the protein in this dish.
