Hummus is an excellent source of plant-based protein and fiber, making it a healthy diabetic-friendly snack and pairs great with sliced veggies. This dip is a useful trick to lure kids into eating their veggies as well!

Here are three delicious hummus recipes you need to try at home. They recipes are so easy to make, even beginner cooks can whip it up in a jiffy!

#1. Red Pepper Hummus

Serves: 8

Ingredients:

  • 1 (15-ounce) can chickpeas, drained
  • 1 red bell pepper, seeded and chopped
  • ¼ cup tahini
  • 2 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 1 tsp. cumin
  • ½ tsp. Himalayan sea salt
  • ¼ tsp. black pepper

Directions:

  1. Add all the ingredients to a food processor. Pulse until super smooth. Add a tablespoon of olive oil if needed. Transfer to a bowl.
  2. Refrigerate for 1 hour before serving.

#2. Pine Nut Hummus

Serves: 8

Ingredients:

  • 1 (15-ounce) can chickpeas, drained
  • ¼ cup pine nuts
  • ¼ cup tahini
  • 2 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • ½ tsp. Himalayan sea salt
  • ¼ tsp. black pepper

Directions:

  1. Add all the ingredients to a food processor. Pulse until super smooth. Add a tablespoon of olive oil if needed. Transfer to a bowl.
  2. Refrigerate for 1 hour before serving. Garnish with pine nuts if desired.

#3. Sun Dried Tomato & Basil Hummus

Serves: 8

Ingredients:

  • 1 (15-ounce) can chickpeas, drained
  • ¼ cup sundried tomatoes
  • 1 handful fresh basil leaves
  • ¼ cup tahini
  • 2 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • ½ tsp. Himalayan sea salt
  • ¼ tsp. black pepper

Directions:

  1. Add all the ingredients to a food processor. Pulse until super smooth. Add a tablespoon of olive oil if needed. Transfer to a bowl.
  2. Refrigerate for 1 hour before serving. Garnish with sun-dried tomatoes if desired.
